My partner and I spent 5 days kiting with Martin, Jass, Yere and the rest of the kite addict team and had a blast! The whole team work hard to get you out on the water and having a great time.We hired mostly duotone gear which was all in good order and if we weren’t enjoying a kite/wrong size for conditions we quickly swapped. We took beginner and advanced lessons which in English and the instructors were great. When hiring or for lessons depending on conditions they will take you to the lagoon if it’s offshore. Wind was very consistent we kites every day we were there in 25 knot winds.I would highly recommend anyone considering a trip to Mayapo see the team at kite addiction for hire or lessons or for a beer after a session.

Beautiful place. Always wind and few people. Relax and Kite all day long!! We were sleeping in the hotel next door. The whole team is very friendly.

A great place and great instructors for a beginner to learn kitesurfing.The school is IKO affiliated (one of the reasons I chose it) and is right on the beach. Their equipment is in good condition and in some cases, brand new. If the wind is on-shore or at least across the shore, it's a wonderful experience kitesurfing at sunset in the warm Caribbean sea. If the wind isn't on-shore, there's a lagoon a few minutes away which eliminates the possibility of being blown out to sea.Martin, the school owner, is a highly qualified instructor and has a wonderful team of other instructors to back him up, over whom, he keeps close watch. All are very encouraging, even if Martin himself is demanding of his students - or at least of me - a good thing!Be aware, that the school is somewhat isolated - it's forty minutes or so by car to Riohacha to banks, supermarkets, pharmacies and medical services. This wasn't a problem for me, as I enjoyed the tranquility - twice, for a month each - to kitesurf, run on the beach in the morning and improve my Spanish.

The best place to learn to kite in Colombia. The spot is unmatched, there is wind all year round and the wind is perfect for learning. The instructors are too friendly and professional.

From the moment you arrive they make you feel at home, the beach is a true paradise, the attention of the teachers is spectacular.They always accompany you and make you feel safe throughout the learning process.I will definitely return.

While the location was remote and hard to get to, the school helped coordinate the rides from Palomino to get there making it very easy to find. The conditions were perfect. The water was not crowded and warm enough to go without a wetsuit. The water was also very flat and the wind was consistent. I had an excellent instructor who was thorough and dedicated to helping me with water starts. He stuck to the IKO curriculum. The school was also English friendly. The prices were reasonable. And I met some cool people there as well. Highly recommend the experience. Don't let the location deter you. It's worth the trek!

Started learning kite surfing this week at Kite Addict with amazing instructors Martin, Jhoan and Betto! The atmosphere was really relaxed and everyone was very kind. We stayed here 4 days and within 13 hours we are able to kite independently. With their well setup training course and helpful feedback, we will be able to keep on practicing ourselves now. Also, the beach and lagoon closeby felt almost private, and Mayapo feels like a secret getaway from reality. We really loved our entire stay!

Nuestra principal prioridad es tu seguridad y felicidad, por eso enseñamos de acuerdo con los estándares IKO.

Podrás alojarte enalojamientos justo detrás de la Escuela de Kiteboarding o en un hostal u hotel en Riohacha. La playa de Mayapo está alejada del turismo de masas y es muy tranquila, limpia y relajante.

La extensa playa de arena blanca es perfecta para practicar equitación, foil y largos Downwinders.

Las playas de Mayapo se encuentran a 25 km de Riohacha. Nuestra estación de kitesurf está situada directamente en la playa.

El único Centro IKO Kiteboarding Pro en la Guajira y la primera Escuela de Kiteboarding en Colombia -Mayapo, la Guajira – Colombia. ¿Quieres aprender a hacer kitesurf, alquilar material, hacer kitesurf o mejorar tus saltos? ¡Entonces has encontrado el lugar perfecto para ir!

Por las mañanas, a menudo tenemos viento lateral del este en alta mar que cambia alrededor de las 10 a. m. a 02 p. m. a viento lateral en tierra del noreste.

Nosotros

Ofrecemos clases privadas de Kiteboarding en inglés, español y alemán. Nuestra máxima prioridad es tu seguridad y felicidad, por eso enseñamos según los estándares IKO, incluyendo seguro contra accidentes y todos los elementos de seguridad necesarios (chaleco salvavidas, casco, bote de rescate). Nuestra escuela está situada justo en la playa, donde podrás relajarte entre clases, disfrutar de marisco fresco a la hora del almuerzo en el restaurante de al lado y pasar el rato con otros ciclistas.

El 5% de nuestras ganancias van a nuestra Fundación: Fundación Jouktai.

Fundado en 2012, apoyamos el desarrollo integral de jóvenes de La Guajira provenientes de entornos vulnerables a través del deporte del Kiteboarding y sus modalidades. Nos enfocamos en formar personas con valores de responsabilidad, honestidad, lealtad, respeto e igualdad, con el objetivo de empoderar a jóvenes locales que sean capaces de lograr sus objetivos.
